Weird Booting Issues with a Gigabyte Motherboard

Hi guys,

So I changed my PSU from a 480w to a 600w today and have found a rather interesting but frustrating issue.

When I finally completed the switch, I tried to boot into Windows 10. However I booted into Ubuntu instead. I have a dual booted system where Win10 is located on an SSD and Ubuntu is on a HDD.

Now, at first I thought maybe I got everything plugged in wrong and changed them around and no luck. Still booting into Ubuntu.

So I have a look at the "disks" utility provided in Ubuntu and sure enough, both the SSD and HDD are detected, to the point where the SSD reports it's Microsoft partition.

Great. When I open Grub-Customizer, I also get a report that Win10 can be detected.

When I try to get into the BIOS of the motherboard however, it gets really interesting. My keyboard doesn't actually work, so hitting the DEL key does nothing. Not to worry, I've a second keyboard, and sure enough that worked.

But... The BIOS does not boot. It just locks up. Which means I cannot change the boot order or anything.

Any ideas on what is going on?

I have a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P Motherboard.

Thanks.

Nothing. It just sits at the POST screen. Also, as I said, when I try to access the BIOS menu, it locks up in what I can guess is the loading screen.

It's acting as if the BIOS is corrupt or something, only it's not otherwise the computer would never boot.

It has a dual bios system, but the manual doesn't say how to access the backup, or even trigger the backup.

It's a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P
