***SOLVED*** Installed new RAM, only 1 stick was showing up

After installing two new sticks of 8gb each, I checked CPU-z and it was only showing that one stick was in. I checked bios and it said the same thing. 3 of the 4 RAM slots were empty except for one. I made sure it was in all the way and that they were in the right slots, even moved them to different slots. After doing this, my PC wouldn't boot no matter how the new sticks are placed and it would only do a 1 long, 2 short bios beeps.

I then went back to my old RAM and now only one slot is working. I put both in the same slots as they always have been and only one stick was showing up. I used one stick and placed it in all 4 slots, and my PC only booted when it was in a certain slot. I'm going to test out one of my new RAM sticks in the same slot to see if it will work this time.

Could I have broken a slot when replacing the sticks? Is there something I'm missing?

EDIT: Figured it out, wasn't pushing sticks in all the way... :pt1cable:

Solution
Glad you found the problem, I made the same mistake when adding RAM to my laptop, the sticks lay almost flat in hinged slots and I hadn't pushed the new stick in far enough (only by a millimetre but that was enough to not register).

Thanks for the edit, it may help others.
