I currently have a i7 4790k and I do recordings and streaming from time to time. I play and stream games like BF1, CS:GO, etc. But when I comes to streaming games that have a lot of power like BF1 it tends to frame drop from time to time and you can feel it. My obs settings are good as what they are and will not change it. When it comes to streaming will the 5820k 6 core benefits more encoding like OBS CPU usage preset to faster or medium instead of very fast then the 4 cores 4790k? How about the fps any big difference or is it just a few fps difference which I don't mind if it's not like 20 or 40 fps loss.

Both processors have the same IPC, so gaming performance should be identical with both processors at the same clocks in games that don't make use of more than 4 cores/8 threads. However, you will see more performance with the i7-5820K if the game makes use of more than 4 cores/8 threads.

The i7-5820K will handle streaming way better than the i7-4790K due to the additional two cores and four threads, so there's that.

I'm getting my friends x99 Asus MoBo for $160 brand new since he couldn't finish his build so it's a stay with the 4790k or if you guys think it's worth the move on to the 5820k since I got a good hook up on the mobo I wouldn't mind.
