I have a fell dps that the gpu jad gone out on. I have all kinds of programs and files on this hd. I already know that I cannot for in another laptop ,Is there any way I can attach it to another laptop and boot from it. Like dual boot.

It may be possible that you can boot another system off your existing drive, but not likely because of changes in the chipset and drivers, especially the SATA controller. Best thing to do is to copy your files over as above and re-install your programs again on the other laptop. Or you can look for a used model of the same laptop you have and put in your drive.
