Any good old first person shooters to suggest, please?

If you can, please make me a list of your favorite first person shooters up to 6 years ago. I don't currently have a very powerful machine and nor do I have much disk space to spare, so I need games which came out up until 2011.

My specs:

FX6300
8GB DDR3 Ram
HD 1TB
GTX 460 1GB GDDR5

Single player campaigns? I loved the CoD:mw trilogy, games such as far cry are great and I can also imagine something like DOOM will run quite well on your system

Did you love the old Doom games? Look up zDoom and play them all over again, but with modern FPS controls. It even has mouse aim. Other than that it's still the original Doom games, same graphics, same AI, same load on your hardware (aka practically no load at all for a modern computer).

Yes, single player campaigns. I too love the CoD:mw trilogy, the only one I haven't played to the end I think is the third one and this pc runs it quite well. As for Far Cry, I only really like 3 and 4, but I only have about 100GB left on my 1TB HD to spare now, so I can't really afford the 40GB or so Far Cry 4 demands.

I have a similar taste in FPS. If you want to go back a little further, Return to Castle Wolfenstein was very enjoyable, and would run like a dream.
Max Payne was pretty cool. Half Life 2 is excellent.

I got to say of all the games I have.. the most enjoyable single player games were half life 2 source, and the expansions.
I've currently restarted GTA IV and having a blast at that.. didn't know I could play pool with my bro..lol
Tom Clancy's vegas and vegas 2 are also fun the second time around.

im in the middle of playing the old deus ex series of games. near the end of "invisible war" excellent.
the early batman arkham games are good.
wolfenstein series.
far cry 1 is great. far cry 2 is repetitive and 3 and 4 are clones of each other.
hmm i have to minimize this tab to see my desktop......
bioshock 1.....and the available mods, remastered.
stalker series.
doom 2015 vulkan....good game that scales well on "low" with old dual cores, but big gb's.
old half-life mods like blue-shift...very small.
shadow warrior and mods.

crysis 1 would be good for your hardware...anything after that and your pushing into over 10gb's....
stalker would be best for you...great story. buggy though

F.e.a.r is one of my favorite games from that time,came out in 2005 and it's sequels in 2008 and 2011,highly recommend them especially the first one
