I'm just curious. My PC has two blu ray drives in it. I got curious and put Horizon Zero Dawn in there and the system recognised it as a PS4 disc and it showed me the files in file explorer. One of them is called app.pkg which is 40 (x several powers of 10) kb in size which I assume is the game,

This is exactly what happened with PS2 game DVDs (and as you may know PS1 games will play any audio tracks they have) and I was able to take the music and some video files off some of them on to my hard drive.

I have no plans to copy any game to my computer, but could you copy files from the disc to your PC if you wanted to? Just curious

No, you cannot. The .pkg you see is essentially a custom zip-type file that can only be uncoded by the PS4 itself. The only thing you can do on a PC file-wise from your PS4 is remove the hard drive and copy it to a PC drive (internal or external) via USB to back it up using a connector like a USB-SATA cord.

Ah cool. Only thought that because I had my PC, I had a disc and a PS4 and after answering what happens if you put a PC game in a PS4 I thought about going the other way. Then found it behaved, as far as being able to see the files, exactly like a PS2 game
