A 1060 for now or spend a bit more money for 1070?

So I recently got a gigabyte 1060 and been running it on few games and it performs well, but considering that this card is not "all that new" compared to 1070, 1080 and 1080 ti, I was wondering if spending that extra bit of money for a 1070 is just more worth for now and for the future. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a unlimited budget, I can't get a 1080 cause the price is just too high. But 1070 is possible.
My question is, am I better of just returning my GTX 1060 and getting 1070 and not having to worry about this for next long while?
Also, would a 1070 run with my system (PSU concerns and such)
CPU-I5 7600k
RAM-Corsair vengeance LPX 2133mhz
MOBO-MSI Z270 tomahawk
PSU-Cooler Master 600W
3 system fans and a Noctua U12s CPU fan

Huh? The 1060 is in the same family as the 1070, 1080, etc. It's the same gen, so it's as new as the others.

I agree with Rhysiam. If you have a 1080 60Hz monitor the 1060 is fine. Yes, it's not the fastest card out there. But it should be able to handle any game you throw at it just fine. In a few years when it stops being able to handle everything consider getting a newer card.
The 1070 is for sure a better card, but the difference isn't massive. You wouldn't usually bother upgrading from 1060 to 1070, especially not for 1080P @ 60hz gaming, where the 1060 is very competent.

Is your monitor 1080P @ 60z, or do you have something better?
Is your 1060 a 3GB or 6GB version?

If you're on 1080P@60 with a 6GB 1060 I think that's all you need for the next two years or so. Upgrade then when a ~$250 card will probably be much faster than a 1070.
If you've got a faster/higher res display then you could certainly make a case for the 1070 right now.
