Hello
I cannot access the Nvidia control panel.
My rig is a custom built, desktop PC (I did not build it)

Video: Geforce GTX 1060 6GB, Driver: 381.65
Processor: Intel i5-6500 @3.20GHz
Ram: 8GB
Monitor: RCA TV, 60hz
Video to Monitor connection: serial cable.

I am running the Geforce experience software to update my drivers etc. I have tried using an HDMI cable instead as suggested in a couple of other forums (still unable to open Nvidia control panel).

When I check Device Manager> Display Adapters. I have both Intel HD graphics 530 and the above mentioned Geforce card. Both are enabled. When I check the monitor in the Device Manager it says its location is "on Intel(R) HD Graphics 530".

I assume this means that the serial cable is plugged into the intel card via the motherboard and the stock Intel video card? Yet I am able to play modern games. (albeit with terrible frame rates: 15-20 fps max, which is why I am trying to access the Control Panel). On the back of the PC there is only 1-Serial 1-HDMI and 1-DVI port to plug into...

What is going on here? How do I set it up so that the monitor is running on the Geforce card and how do I get it to let me access the Nvidia Control Panel?

Solution
unplug the monitor cable from the motherbd connection and plug it into the GPU which will be on a card perpendicular to the motherbd

Here you see the motherbd vertical in the background and the gpu horizontal. You should be able to see those other GPU ports on the back of the pc.

Thanks! Yes, I pulled the side off my case to double check what I was plugged into and realized I was not connected to the GPU. There were dust cover plugs on the GPU ports and I didnt realize it. :S Sorry for clogging up the forum.
