So I seriously need an upgrade in hardware. And I'm going to upgrade to Ryzen 5 1600x but I'll need to replace my CPU and MOBO. Is it possible to do this without wiping my SSD I have many programs I do not feel like finding again.

My current spec:
MOBO: ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0
CPU: AMD FX-6300

It's worth a try. If the difference in platforms isn't too drastic, the system should be able to boot from the old Win10 installation. If you get it to boot, I would run something like CCleaner and do the Clean and Registry portions both to help clean up any device driver and software conflicts and registry errors. Then install the correct drivers for the new board and your gfx card.

What version of Windows are you running? If you're running 7, you're going to have to reinstall no matter what due to driver conflicts and such. If you're running 8.1 or 10, you'll still have to uninstall the existing drivers to install the new ones but you can activate the existing license on the new motherboard. If you're using 7, that license is tied to that motherboard, but Microsoft lifted that requirement starting with Windows 8.1 continuing through 10.

Is there a limitation the number of moves you can make with the Win10 OS? I thought it was a total of three, but I never saw that in print anywhere.

That is a good question but I don't have an answer for it. I can ask the other mods and see if they know.
