Problem with upgrading memory

System: Dell XPS 15 9560
New component: Corsair 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz Vengeance
SODIMM

When I add the new memory modules and attempt to power on, the battery warning light (i.e. the one that glows white when charging and orange when low) flashed orange a few times and the computer did not boot. I am pretty sure it is not an issue with installation, as when I replace the old memory it boots just fine. I am also under the impression this component is compatible with my system, though I could be mistaken.

Any thoughts on what could be happening would be very much appreciated.

I can't see an issue. The only thing that I could think of is that it may not work with any other RAM besides their own. Which is a slightly plausible conclusion, but I just don't think that's it. Looking at the specs of the laptop, they all say they support up to 2400MHz RAM. But it should underclock just fine. >.>
