major crash on new ryzen system

Had a running pc with windows 10 running (free upgrade from 8.1) then the motherboard failed, wouldn't detect RAM and refused to boot.

I replaced the motherboard with a gigabyte x370 gaming 5 and a ryzen 1700x CPU.
Connected old SSD and to my surprise, windows detected it without asking for a new activation code.

I updated all the drivers and flash the bios to version f5 as I could not get it to boot with 3000 mhz speed on my RAM corsair vengeance led 3000 (only at 2133).

Still couldn't set up faster RAM speed in BIOS, but system was working fine so I gave up and maintained stock settings (no overclock yet).

System ran fine for 4 weeks. Windows requested a computer restart to install an update 2 days ago, I agreed and computer rebooted but crashed to a black screen.

Tried to restart on numerous occasions but although I see the AORUS motherboard logo and can go to BIOS, windows will no longer boot, it goes to the window logo then crashes.

Contacted microsoft as I assumed that the issue was created by recent update and they said that motherboard must be faulty or not compatible with windows 10 so they won't help until I send the motherboard back to gigabyte to be tested.

This would take weeks and I don't believe that it would be the brand new motherboard so i searched the issue and heard that there can be problems with the windows update if there is not sufficient space on the drive being used. Since my 250gb was pretty full, I thought that this may have been the issue.

Today, I purchased a samsung 850 evo 500GB and a new windows 10 home edition, disconnected all the drives apart from the new 500gb,booted from the flash drive and windows installed normally.

10mn later and computer crashed to a black screen as I was downloading programs (chrome,steam...).

Attempted to restart and I have the same issue with computer crashing on windows logo.

Noticed in BIOS that motherboard had reverted to F4 version instead of F5, attempted to flash motherboard again but still crashing on Windows loading.

I now have a very expensive good looking PC that I can’t use.
Any idea would be greatly appreciated. I need to have it running before VEGA comes out.

My first reply was going to be about your boot drive capacity, but you've fixed that issue.

Second... and you sound like a really frustrating case, have you tried removing one stick of RAM and booting with only one 8GB stick? See if that works for you. If you crash again, swap the RAM sticks, and boot again with only the other stick in place. Make sure you are putting the stick(s) in the proper slots.

Leave the other drives disconnected until you can get a stable system. Also, is your CPU cooler securely in place and proper thermal paste applied? I'm sure "yes", but covering bases.

help, I have created a monster!!!!
Sorry for being useless but your help would be greatly appreciated.
I resolved my initial issue by removing the USB chord from the HTC vive and the system was finally able to boot.

I would prefer to run the pc from a clean install so I used the new 500gb ssd with the fresh windows 10 install and reloaded all my programs. I had to rename all the drives as well.
PC runs fine but I am still having crashes only while playing battleground player unknown with a message stating that it is related to the RAM.
One off the most common issue with Ryzen is apparently the slow RAM and mine is set up at 2100mhz when it should run at 3000mhz
As per precious youtube instruction,I allowed xmd and used one of the set profile that increases ram speed to 2999mhz and increased ram voltage to 1.35v. Saved profile and restarted. PC not booting, not even going into bios. I turned it off and restarted on about 5 times with no success.

Went back to mortherboard booklet and find out that if the system is unstable, I can clear the cmos then reset in bios to default setting.

Followed the instructions and bios started, reset to default and pc booted from my old ssd???
I restarted, went into bios boot order and got windows to start from the new 500gb ssd which worked fine(no option to save,it just ask which drive i want to boot from and when i click it boots straight away from that drive). windows boots from the new drive however when shutting down and restarting,it reverts to the old drive.
went in the bios and under chipset,I can see the new 500gb ssd however if i go in the bios section under boot order priority,i can only see the old ssd, I have an option to disable it but I didn't want to do that as I may create more issues.
How can set up my new ssd as the primary boot drive when it shows in chipset but not in boot options?
How can i use my ram at its rated speed of 3000mhz?
Let me know as any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Just thought I should take the time to thank everyone who replied, I am still unable to run my RAM at its rated speed and I have still an issue with the pc booting into the wrong drive unless I go to boot order and tell it to boot from my new drive, but it is a manageable issue and I will wait until there is a new gigabyte motherboard BIOS update and hope that this will resolve the issues.
It is great to have access to a helpful community so thank you for your assistance.
Regards,
