Can i run a ocd gtx 770?

Can i run a overclocked palit gtx 770 with 3 fans if i have a blue storm 2 500w psu?

Pc specs: I5 2500k 4.2ghz
Xigmatek loki 2
8gb ddr3 hyperx blue
1tb samsung hdd and 500gb wd blue hdd

Well, I think 500w should be enough, but it might be close. Also, I've never heard of blue storm and can't find it on the Tom's PSU tier list, so I'm going to assume it's not of great quality... I would certainly be safer to upgrade to a good quality 650W PSU, but probably not necessary.

Not on that psu. It's really bad and according to the specs and google it gives out at around 300w load which you will easily hit with the 770. I recommend replacing it.

That coolermaster calculator says that my recommended psu wattage is 483w, so i should be ok with that psu and 770

Uses just as much(if not more) power as a 770. Best option would be to replace that poor quality PSU with a better unit.

I want to get a new gpu and then other components. Guess i will be looking for a 760 then.

Just take a 1050 ti or rx 470. The rx 470 is better than the 280x or 770 and will work.

Also the second review on newegg is about the psu catching fire. Promising

If it would've been a good quality 500w unit then yes. However this is a low tier 500w psu that struggles to give 300w.

It's an old unit(out of production for a few years) and PSUs degrade over time. Apparently atleast 3 of them have caught fire.

The real problem is your current PSU has the potential to burn your house down., putting it under a large load will increase that chance. Best case scenario is it just shuts down when it gets overloaded or overheated, but there is a chance it could fail and damage other components and worst case it catches fire.

It was a overclocked sapphire radeon hd 5850 1gb. Worked just fine.
