Hello, I want to connect two computers via a ad-hoc wireless lan, via ethernet cable or via an android hotspot.

These are two computers from my company, everything works fine on my worknetwork, I can ping both computers, but when I connect these two computers via an ethernet cable ( just using one cable) I cannot ping between them.
When I connect to an hotspot, I can ping the gateway but not from one computer to another.

Both computers share the same network ip 192.168.1.1/255

On my home computers I just have them with the same workgroup and it works fine. But where I cannot change the domain or workgroup settings.
How could I do this ?

Thanks in advance !

Just the two computers with an ethernet cable and nothing else?

Basically they are now on an existing network where the router is 192.168.1.1 and the submasks for connected network devices is 255.255.255.0 as I understand your "same network ip".

Note: Each computer has its own IP on the network and that IP is being assigned by the router via DHCP. No two devices will have the same IP. Some devices may have static IPs but those static IPs must not be duplicated or otherwise be DHCP assigned as a duplicate.

So each computer could be assigned a static IP which would then be used by its counterpart for whatever purposes being required.

However, if both computers are already on a network (with IP addresses) then you would/could set up shares between the computers, or use one to remote access the other.

I just connect with cable and assign ip adress manually, 192.168.1.5 to one computer and 192.168.1.10 to another.
I also connect both of them to an hotspot, and they both are on the same network.

But I just can't ping or make a connection between these computers. If they were personal computer I woul say that they are on different workgroups, and after changing them to the same one they would work.

Here they have the same Domain, but after I connect them to a small network that isnt my work network, they stop comunicating. Because when they are both connected to the company Wlan, they work just fine and I can ping each other.
