wifi Dongle is not working

Hi,

My new wifi dongle is not connecting through wifi and it working through cable. And it is connecting to other laptops via cable and wifi as well. I am using windows 7 OS in my laptop.
Can someone please help on this.

First be sure to disable "cable" (ethernet adapters).

Second, be sure to enable your wireless adapters. You should be able to see the wireless adapters if you have downloaded and installed the drivers via the manufacturer's website.

Use one or the other: wireless or wired.

However, you must also have then necessary access rights to the wireless network you wish to join. I.e., SSID and password to start with.

Be sure the dongle is correcly plugged in via a USB port. Also you may need to use a USB extension cable to raise the dongle up higher and away from the back of the host computer in order to improve the send and receive signals.
