So I've just built my first PC and everything works fine, except my from panel Headphone and Microphone sockets don't recognise anything.

I plugged my headset (3.5mm Headphone and Microphone jack) into the corresponding front panel sockets however, it is not recognised, even when I open Playback Devices (or Recording Devices), it says the "Headphones" and "Microphone" options are "Not plugged in".

I thought this was an error with my Headset at first, however I plugged the headset into the back of the PC, and it works fine (besides the microphones sensitivity is low). However this is a pain to use my headset like this due to the positioning of the PC and the desk.

I want to be able to use my headset via the front panel sockets.

P.s. My drivers are up to date, I've already checked.

P.p.s. I tried normal earphones that I use on a a daily basis (with my phone), but to no avail, they were not recognised by the PC. As well as this I plugged the headset into my phone and it works, so I know it's definitely not the headset.
