Hey everyone! The reason I am posting here is because of the trouble I am having with internet connectivity during my desktop PC startup.

For some reason, right after I boot up my PC, the system fails to connect to the internet most of the time and no amount of tweaking will help. Notice how i said most of the time - it takes around 5 to 10 restarts to get the connectivity right.

Im not sure what is causing the problem. The diagnostics wizard's verdict is that some cable is missing or that I dont have drivers installed. But if this were the case, then how am I eble to boot up with an internet connection after X attempts?

Thanks.

I would suspect a bad connection: cable, port, plug....

Intermittent "make and break". A wire problem. Connects sometimes, disconnects, does not connect at first, dries out, gets cold... who knows. Some plug coming loose on the end of the wire - does not take much to cause problems.

Can be tricky to find the location of loose connections or broken connections that occassionally can touch just long enough to work for awhile. And some vibration causes the connection to come apart again.

First try using other known working cables. As I read your post I would expect an ethernet cable between your PC and the router.

Especially if only your PC as affected. If the entire network is affected then the problem will encompass more cables and connections to be checked.

Are you using the built in motherboard ethernet adapter or another wired adapter in a PCIx slot. If the latter, make sure it is securely in place.

Do you use ethernet wall ports - they often have problem with loose wires inside. On either end.

First look for a bad connection or plug. Swapping out ethernet cables is very likely to eliminate that a possible source.

Then go online to the network adapter manufacturer's website and download and install new drivers.

I think its a problem with DHCP. The phisical IP addres is a pseudo addres or something. Not sure how to fix this. This is why wireles works, the router is the problem.
