Anyone knows why there's no drivers in the amd website for the windows 8.1 ?
Will they release them later on ?

The thing is, i ordered the new rx 580 but i have windows 8.1 as my OS ...

Solution

I can't say for sure without testing it myself. But from what I understand about Server 2012. It should be the same Kernel between S-2012 and Win 8. Similar with S-2012/R2 and Win 8.1. Just without the Desktop Experience enabled right away. I'm guessing you are trying to configure it for a general purpose desktop? One thing to keep in mind. Windows Server is only 64-bit so it would only accept signed 64-bit drivers. While you can make a Windows Server into a desktop O/S. It really isn't intended for that purpose. You likely will have software that refuses to...

I made an account only for this. Run the Windows 7 driver in compatibility mode. Sadly they are not cross compatible drivers like people are saying. Even though I think AMD did intend for that.

Im running server 2012 with the rx 580 card. Im having the same problem everyone else is having - no windows 8 driver. Will this workaround work on server 2012?

You likely will have software that refuses to install. Compatability mode should be the solution. Or possibly finding a driver .inf instead of the AMD .exe. Here is a page I hope will help.
