Set up of wifi booster

So I don't have access to the wifi router as im in shared accommodation above a business I know the wifi password and other details but no access to the actual router I can't get the wifi to work on my tv it says out if range would a booster work with the password etc without any interaction with the router itself.

The "booster" ( I think you are referring to a range extender) would work but you need router access to set up the range extender.

Plus the performance is likely to be very slow.

If you know the wireless password then you must know the wireless router's admin person.

Work with that person to see if you can set up a range extender.
