Please help, I am trying to bring my desktop back to Dell Factory Setting and I am having a problem. I followed the instructions I do the F8 and when I press enter on the screen that says Repair My Computer it does bring me to the screen that suppose to have a selection Dell Factory settings, but it doesn't. What am I doing wrong... Can I do this by another way of doing it. Am I missing a restore file and if I am where can I down load it from.. Again please help, I want to give this PC to my grandson but I want to take everything that's on it now, off. Thanks... Stephen.... <email address removed by moderator>

Hi

download the user guide for your system from Dell

Are you pressing F8 during BIOS display or after windows starts to load?
(should be while Dell Bios screen is displayed)

If this fails like elbert said make a recovery DVD set.

Win 8 & Win 10 Dells usually make a recovery USB
With Vista & Win 7 it is recovery DVD's

From Start Menu look in Dell Utilities for Recovery Disk Builder program

Mike & Elbert thanks for your replays. I am pressing F8 during the BIOS display.
I do get the screen that had the comment on it that says "Repair My Computer".
When I press enter on this as instructed I do not get the screen that I am suppose to get. I am suppose to get the screen that states "Restore To Factory Settings" and I don't.. If I get the recovery media will that allow me to get the screen with "Restore To Factory Settings". I want to be able to erase everything else off the Dell Desktop computer, but leave the OS.Thanks Stephen......
