So for my birthday I am upgrading to a Ryzen 1700x but I don't have a high end cooler. Right now I have a Cooler Master 212 evo and I'm certain that won't cut it for stock speeds. I am either considering buying a Corsair H100i or the NH-D15. Which should I buy? I am open to other suggestions as well.

I have a Cryorig H5 ULTIMATE, not Universal and it keeps my i7 7700k below 70C overclocked to 4.8. Ive never overclocked higher but 7700k is a hotter chip than yours and it comes with the upgraded bracket to use with ryzen. Great cooler for under 50 bucks. It is kinda bulky but that's why it's such a good air cooler though and still be quiet.

The evo 212 should work just fine, the only thing to worry about is that it fits on the new mobo, thwere is an upgrade kit for the CM evo 212 to use it on the AM4 socket. the water Aio coolers are a bit more loud than the regular heatsink coolers, but they look better so its all about what you like best the performance of the coolers arent so far apart for it to matter, you can go best value or best looks thats up to you to decide.
