I'm putting a new system together and the cpu I bought requires a 'colder' temp heatsink. I bought an Artic model Freezer A11 heatsink. To install it, I had to remove the stock heatsink bracket from the motherboard.
To install the new heatsink they include 4 quarter inch plastic rings that are to be placed under the 4 screws I took out and then put 4 screws back in, through the rings, attaching the heatsink to the processor. My problem is only 3 of the screws will go in. I even screwed each one down a little at a time, to keep them somewhat even. I tried for over an hour to get the thing to screw in with no luck. Can I run the computer with just the 3 screws that hold the heatsink and CPU to the motherboard? I hope someone has an answer to this, so I don't have to take them all back out and start over.
