Hello all,

The problem first started today, when I'd turn my PC on it would power on for like 3 seconds, no BIOS then shut off. Then it would turn on automatically, then power off again repeating until i cut the power.

I opened it up, removed everything except for the motherboard and CPU. but still it would do the same.

So i put everything back, but now it doesn't even power on for a second. It lights up then instantly turns off.

I'm quite scared to be honest. What's likely to be at fault?

Specs:
Mobo - Gigabyte H61M-S2PV
CPU - Intel Core i5 3570k
GPU - AMD Radeon R9 290
RAM - Corsair 8GB XMs3 (x2 4gb)
PSU - XfX pro 650w modular PSU

as usual, all help appreciated!

Solution
sometimes static charge do that, a pc on the floor over a carpet can suffer from this

another reason is loose parts, not properly seated ram or gpu

sometimes is just that the mainboard hates you and decides to give problems

other times is the weather, the weather! :D

I did unplug everything from the PSU except the CPU and motherboard. RAM, GPU, CD drive HDD and SSDs where all unplugged and when it didn't work, I plugged everything back in.

I don't know what happened, but I tried it again and everything managed to boot up. I'm messaging you from my PC right now. Hoping everything can stay good. the issue started at 22:45, but right now at 23:18 it's ok.

Really, thank you for your help into my issues though.
