OK this might get confusing especially to me being my first build.
I have a z170 board and a kaby lake cpu. I also have in a older pc a skylake cpu. Yes I know I need to update the bios. And I kinda know how to do it to.
My question being can i download the update onto an external drive/usb from my old pc and update the bios on my newly built pc with my 7th gen cpu inside?. Or does updating the bios require me to have the 6th Gen cpu inside my new mobo making it a tedious task taking out and replacing the cpus. If you need any clarification I will be happy to try and help. Thanks in advance
Also my pc is not entirely built yet just think it nice to know before I start that part by replacing 2 cpus over again.
