Older build. Anything that could be slowing my PC?

I've had random freezing while playing games and on PC boot the desktop takes a while to steady out. Any reason for the freezing? I assumed that my 3 monitors with multiple windows might be having an effect on my slower ram. I really went cheap on the ram when I built this gaming rig about 4-5 years ago. Since the first build I have upgraded the GPU.

Solution
800 MHz RAM = 1600 in dual-channel. That's fine.

Honestly it might just be Windows itself if it's been on there for some time. One of my laptops just got a fresh re-install, and it's very zippy and doesn't stutter when downloading files and attempting to play music/video anymore (it's a 4-core i7; don't know why it was doing that).
