Building a new PC, and the CPU (I7-6850k) is specced with "4 Channels DDR4 2400"
Correct me if im wrong, but this says that the highest speed memory i can get is 2400 right?

Also, when i check "Quad Channel Kit" on the newegg search filter, every single result is a 8-DIMM kit.

Does this mean i should be getting 8 sticks instead of 4? I was under the impression that 4 is better?

You're looking at the CPU. The motherboard you choose will also determine how the 4 channels in the CPU are allocated so it's not just a matter of the max channels the CPU can provide.

The motherboard may also have RAM overclocking capabilities, XMP for an Intel CPU. So it may be able to go higher and since it's a "k" model it should overclock if you want to try it. The 2400 is, however, whatthe CPU is guaranteed to handle.

The CPU, motherboard, and RAM selections go hand in hand. So you need to look at the quad channel motherboards to make sure you can find one that fits your needs before you lay out the money for a quad channel RAM kit.
