EVGA board says "Floppy disk fail" when there's no floppy disk

I have an EVGA motherboard, model 132-CK-NF79. Each time I boot I get the message "Floppy disk(s) fail (40)," and I have to press F1 to continue. This is new; the board did not do it before today, but something seems have gotten knocked loose.

I opened the setup menu and found that "Removable Device" was at the start of the boot sequence, and was set to "Floppy Disks" (the only choice on that menu). I removed "Removable Device" from the boot sequence, but the board still says "Floppy disk(s) fail" when I boot. (Yes, I reopened the menu to confirm that the change really got made and saved.)

I returned to setup and disabled the floppy disk controller. (I assume that's what "FDC" means.) That made no difference except that "Floppy disk(s) fail" is now followed by the number (80) instead of (40).

What's the trick to making this thing behave?

Under Standard CMOS features you're supposed to set Drive A type to none if you don't have a floppy drive (and not just disable it under Integrated Peripherals). Worst case you can set Halt on no errors to avoid having to press F1.

Thank you, BFG, that worked. (The YouTube clip may be fine too but I didn't need it.)

With all of the boot parameters on the advanced options screen, I never would have thought of finding the solution on a different screen. (Well, actually I looked at other screens, including Standard CMOS Features, but I didn't expect to find the solution there... so I didn't!)
