I am building my first PC and am going with a 250Gb SSD alongside a 1tb HDD.

I want to have the OS and my most used programs on the SSD while having the other files on the HDD (I want it to automatically download there too).

Can I know how to do that?

Thanks

Depends on your browser settings. Click on the three dots in the upper right hand corner of Chrome or on the 3 bars(same place) in Firefox to open the settings/options windows. In Chrome you need to click on show advanced settings and then scroll down to Downloads. That is where you set the download location. In Firefox you click on Options and then you will see the download location that you can change.

Thanks

You answered the second part of the question thanks for that.

But how will I have the OS and the main programs on the SSD and not the HDD?

Install SSD only. Install the OS and download all updates. Shut down. Install HDD. It's up to you where the programs install. They always give the user a choice where to install. They usually default to C: which will be your SSD.
