Hello,

I've made a new build for my gf and I'm having some problems with the windows installation on the HDD

So here are the specs:

MOBO: Asrock B250 Pro
CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 (Kaby Lake)
RAM: 8 GB DDR4
PSU: Seasonic ECO 430
HDD: HDD Seagate Barracuda 1TB, 7200rpm, 64MB cache, SATA III

So I had this HDD in my main build, the I changed it with a 2TB one and left it untouched. 1TB free storage for about 6months.

Now i'm trying to install windows on it for the new pc.

The Story:
BIOS recognizes the HDD
Tried to install windows 8.1 64Bit, when in partition screen I encountered:

'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.' while the disk's controller was enabled and settings were on AHCI.

I tried to install windows as MBR also as GPB, did all the things in disk part, converted/ cleaned/ made it active (you name it) the disk 100 times. I managed to install windows a few times by selecting boot device USB 2.0 (AS UEFI), but after restart I'm always prompted to "reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key after installing windows"

I tried hooked the HDD back to my main build and I can use it as storage.
I tried to install windows on it on my main build, no issue when installing but after restart the same error appears "reboot... w/e"

Also tried with Windows 10.

Right now i'm doing a KillDisk on this HDD and will try again.

Anyone has any idea why this HDD doesn't want to be nice and embrace windows?

ALSO, hooked my SSD (with windows 8.1) to my gf build and it booted no problems, So no issue with the other parts i guess.

PS: This is Day 3 fighting this HDD!
