You can't put a 75w gpu on a motherboard and claim that the motherboard is pulling 75w. That is like saying my light bulb socket pulls 60w while I just so happen to have a 60w light bulb in there.




OP, the answer to your original question is no. A 500w psu is not going to be enough for two RX570 in crossfire. I recommend at least a VERY good 650w if not a 750w for safe measures and overclocking headroom.
Each one pulls ups to 150 watts, so with 2 ... 300.

Your cpu pulls anywhere from 60-150.

Your motherboard pulls about 70.

A 1 terabyte hard drive pulls another 20.

So looking at this napkin math, the lowest is 450 watts with a maximum of 540 watts.

I wouldn't chance it.

70W motherboard? Trust me, it's no where near that high. A board, ram sticks, hdd, etc all together pull 50W or less.

Here is the power page on the 570. It's a bit hard to decide how much power the 570 draws because while it spends most of it's time around 150W, it can spike to over 200W. Using two of these in CF (not SLI) you need at least 300W, planning on 350W isn't out of line. Add in the 50W for the board and stuff, all that's left to account for is the CPU. If you have an old FX CPU you need 525W on the 12V rail, new Zen CPU or Intel CPUs would be 77-95W. I would argue you'd need around 500W on the 12V rail at least. Obviously your 500W PSU isn't going to cut it. A 650W maybe, but you probably need a 750W.

in fact the maximum specification for PCI-E on the motherboard for an x16 graphics card is 75 watts for it alone.

? That's a pcpricechecker link. Nothing there shows a board drawing 70W. Look at the label on a harddrive.

12V * .55A = 6.6W + 5V * .35A = 2.xW for a total of 9.54. Where is this 20W you are talking about? Ram sticks are like 2W a stick. 14W? Obviously a card drawing it's power from the slot only can draw up to 75W, but that's factored into the GPU draw, not the board draw. To claim that a board with a 750 draws 75W is rather misleading.

Way back in the day when there was a NB and a SB on the motherboard they used to draw ~25W. But the NB was moved onto the CPU die and the SB (or MCH as Intel calls it.) draws very little power. I would think a board would draw ~10W total. There just isn't much left on it. We aren't helping the OP much anymore and both our draws are around 500W so I'm not sure why you are getting worked up over this. But there is no way a board alone is 70W. And if you think about it using your figures of 20W drives and 14W ram sticks with a 70W board you are looking at 100W+ for the "rest of the system" as I call it. That's more then some GPUs.

pricepicker does a good job of showing you issues. Did you see the ones listed?

It seems you lack a CPU cooler. Yes, you need one. You seem to have a RAM issue as well.

I was looking at your other posts so I'm not sure if the CPU and B85 board issue will be a problem for you as I think you already have this? I'm confused however as you talked about running a 1080. Why the CF 570s? This is why I tell people to make ONE post about upgrading! You have info in many threads and now no one knows enough about what's going on. STOP making threads with only some info. You are only hurting yourself. Go back to the first post in this thread and tell us what's going on. What do you have? What budget do you have? Where are you located? (I know you were talking about "sorry for bad English", I think you are in the EU somewhere?) Make a single post with the info we need so we can help you properly.

Edit: I forgot to mention the PSU. There is no way that PSU can power a CF 570 setup. It will be ok with one 570, but not two.

Ah, i accidently used my brother's tomshardware account. Sorry for that, he was upgrading his pc and got a 1080, it was my birthday yesterday and i got 2x rx 570. Im sorry for the confusion
