my pc restarts when i am playing more demanding games ( witcher 3, mafia 3, overwatch) and sometimes games that aren't that great looking (metro 2033, sometimes payday heist). the games that work fine are league of legends, dishonored 1, speedrunners, superhot.

my specs:
I5 6500
msi gtx 1060 6gt oc
crucial 8gb 2x4gb 2133mhz
hdd wd 1tb 5400 rpm 64mb cache 6 gb/s
corsair vs450 bronze 450w (refurbished)
msi h110m pro-vd plus

my thought was the psu but then i remembered that i bought the wrong hdd and i think that the hdd is the problem. it loads very easily to 100% at times. i also spoke with customer service from where i bought the psu and they said that they used higher components and the psu could keep up.

maybe it's over-heating... install MSI afterburner or something and check that out.
also, I don't know if it's used on desktops, but the processor and GPU on laptops use thermal mass to transfer heat to the heat sink, which normally is a copper bar.
what you describe happened to me a long time ago because thermal mass get's dry with time, so it's needed to open the laptop, clean the dry thermal mass and put a new one.
after I did that to my laptop it was running games fine again.
now, as I said, I don't know if desktop computer even use thermal mass, since all components are separated from each other...
