Will this CPU work on this motherboard?

Solution
All the boards that have the X79 chipset should be compatible with this CPU but as I said earlier you have to make sure that they have been updated with a BIOS version that support the Ivy Bridge EP CPUs. The motherboard on your link specifically says that it supports Sandy Bridge Xeons but you can't be certain whether it has a new BIOS that also supports the Ivy Bridge Xeons. You have to find an X79 board from a well known manufacturer (Asus, MSI, Gigabyte, Asrock) and make sure that it supports your CPU by checking the specs of each board.
Yes that CPU is based on Ivy Bridge EP and it will work on that board. But it may need a BIOS update. You see that board was initially released for Sandy Bridge E CPUs and later was able to support Ivy Bridge EP through a simple BIOS update. If that board has still the initial BIOS version it won't recognise your CPU. If it has been updated with a newer BIOS version it will work perfectly. Now if you get it and it won't work you won't be able to update the BIOS yourself because it will need an older CPU that what you have in order to boot.
