Hi guys, I've had this WD green 3TB HDD for less than 2 years, and recently i noticed that sometimes, when i try to access some things, the read and write speed of the hard drive goes down to 0. Cable check and SMART test on western digital's lifeguard diagnostics for windows 10 shows everything is good. I also tried switching SATA ports and the problem still persists. I am unable to complete the WD extended test, as it also stops at some point, despite disk active time at 100%.
Below is a screen shot of a chkdsk i ran.
I ran the chkdsk overnight and i presume that the read speed was good for the first 87%. i came to check on the progress of the chkdsk in the morning and this happens. progress is stuck at 87%, read and write speed is effectively 0, despite the disk active time at 100%.
i also ran an antivirus scan using avast and nothing shows up.
please help!
