My GPU is an R9 290, same as this one:

It is currently connected on one HDMI display and the audio goes into it.
I have 2x old VGA-only LCD displays sitting in a closet. For a little extra desktop space, I want to hook them up to the 290. I think that you have to have one display going through Display Port, correct? There is no way around that for 3 monitors, right? I'm thinking just keep the current display as it is with HDMI as the main monitor. Then, use a DP to VGA adapter for one and a DVI-D to VGA adapter for the other. Would passive adapters do the job?

I was also wondering is there a DP to dual VGA dongle that would work on Eyefinity? The only ones I can find are splitters that duplicate the display and not extend it.
