My computer is just over 2 years old and I'm going to be doing a big upgrade to the majority of it. I need to know how to sell it within a few months and make the most money. I will be getting a new Case, MOBO, GPU, CPU, CPU Cooler, RAM (not using any of the old sticks), and obviously selling the previous components. I could use the previous PSU, 1TB HDD and SSD for my new build and I will 100% be keeping my 4TB hard drive. I'm on a limited budget so I am trying to figure what is the best way to do things. If you have any questions feel free to ask but I would love your feedback thanks.

What OS is your old computer running at? Im pretty sure you can bring it forward to your new computer by copying it in a USB however you need to look that up (i completely forgot). Whats your CPU cooler If it does it's job there's no need to upgrade. If your ram is 8GB there's are no reason to upgrade it, since most games run perfectly fine with 8GB ram, unless you want to edit and render videos. What's your budget too?

My current computer, which I am planning on selling, is running on Windows 7, but I am planning on running Windows 10.
I would like to try and keep the programs I currently have on my SSD.

CPU Cooler is DeepCool Gamma Archer, but I am upgrading to water cooling as I plan to overclock. And I will be editing and rendering videos very frequently. My budget is roughly $2200, and I have a full plan for parts, although as I said I am not sure what I'm taking from my old/current computer.

I'd leave it complete. Use something like Clonezilla to move your data over to another HDD or SSD. Do what you want with the old HDD. Wipe it. Clean install of 7. Whatever is necessary to destroy your data. Then sell the PC complete. Nothing is really desirable imo. The no name PSU? It's at least 2 years old and probably at the end of its warranty window. Who wants a picked over PC? Leaving it complete helps its value.

Be sure to be specific about your components when listing this for sale.

Hi, thanks for your help. I'm not sure why you typed 1800x at the end, I have the older AMD processors from the FX series, not the new ones (I have an 8320FX as listed earlier). I will reformat my 1TB HDD and leave it in there, should I leave my SSD too, or keep it and save buying a new one but lower the price when selling the old computer? Thanks so much for your help!

the 1800X was what I thought you may be moving up to. Intense gaming calls for the 7700K. But you already have a list. Just a curiosity.

I'd leave the SSD in there. It's all about 2 years old. Start fresh. I'd use CCleaner to clean the free space after they are ready for sale. The free space overwrite can be set to 35 times ensuring your data is thoroughly corrupted.
