So lately I have been experiencing some issues with 8gb of RAM. I want to upgrade it to either 12 or 16gb. But it's not that simple right now I have 2x4gb of RAM ddr3, so to save time I thought I can just swap 1 4gb stick with an 8gb stick same speed same gen. Because its a waste of money if I go with 16gb on ddr3, it's the same price as ddr4 16gb. My other option is to replace the whole motherboard including processor and RAM (not the graphics card it's a 1060) to a newer generation my processor is an i5-4460 and my motherboard is msi h81-e34. If I'm gonna upgrade I was thinking about ryzen 5 1600x or some i7, a motherboard around €200 and 16gb ddr4. But the problem here is saving time and money, so can my processor handle another year with 12gb of ram or should completly upgrade my motherboard
