Did I short out my motherboard?

I currently dont have a case but was running my pc just fine until I got curious and though that a wire that was broken off (I thought it was my CMOS jumper) and I tried it and i smelt a little kind of burn. and nothing else happened after that. I tried powering it back on and it did not work.
 
Solution
Sounds pretty dire to me. Are there any obvious signs of shorting? Burning? blown components? Check your PSU is working, make sure all the rails are give the correct voltage. Swap the PSU out with another if you can, see if that works. If the PSU is ok, breadboard your system. Just the motherboard with nothing on/in it (even the cpu). If still nothing it's most likely a damaged board....
