so i recently just started playing forza horizon 3 on PC again. and its STILL having the same issue as before. the game will always stutter and dip framerate. ive tried this with other CPU's and it still happens. im running a i7 3930K & GTX 980Ti @ 1080p 144hz. so there is no bottleneck whatsoever. they said that they fixed this in their recent patch but its still happening? anyone got any suggestions?

My specs are in the signiture. I just picked this game up because it was on sale. I put it on a hhd and it stutter when i had framerate unlocked. The issue was it would drop from 103 fps to 93 to 88 to 96f ps So what i have seen is a very inconsistant framerate. Locking it at 72 helped alot. It still have a little stutter here and there but wasnt a game break for me. Im downloading it on my ssd as we speak. For sh@# and giggles i even put my refresh rate from 144 to 85 and unlocked the frame rate. I found it still stutter. So with that being said its the game which in my opinion is still broken IMO. All i know is doing all this crazy voodoo stuff never works and never fully takes away stutter. Locking at 72 with vsync on made it playable and enjoyable.

I'm not sure if others are experiencing exactly the same issue as mine. I have a GTX1080 Ti and no matter what graphics preset I used (low, high, ultra), the game would stutter like as in drop in frame rate. I've tried adjusting the settings like turning off vsync, turning off motion blur, setting my nvidia control panel to max power preferred.. nothing worked. Until I remembered I used to have Razor Cortez (search for Razor Cortez game optimizer) and it had helped me in the past. So I installed it and it was NIGHT and DAY. There may still be some stutter occasionally, mostly I think because you've gone into a new area of the map and perhaps my SSD or CPU needed some time to load the new area but by and large, most of the constant annoying stutters are gone!!

I was so turned off by the constant stuttering I actually didn't play it after 20min and didn't come back to it until a month later. Now, I am having a blast. Also, I have the preset turned up to ultra and the game looks beautiful locked at 60fps.

Anyway, if you've tried everything (including setting the game to real time and removing CPU 0 from the affinity in task manager) and had no luck, give Razor Cortex a try.. hopefully this helps someone. Good luck!
