Hi all,
I have a BT Homehub router which seems to work perfectly well. My laptop and other wireless devices also work perfectly well, however I have issues with my computer which is connected through an ethernet connection (through one of those through the electricity system jobbies).
Every so often if I'm not actively doing something on the computer, the internet connection drops. I mean if I'm watching a video on Youtube for 10 minutes or so then go back to browsing the internet, it appears I have lost connection. The weird thing, is that after maybe 10 minutes through a video if I go to load a webpage in another tab and the webpage doesn't load, then video is still buffering in another tab. So the internet is still live, however it just chooses not to work?!
Whenever this happens if I to go to Device Manager > Network adapters > Right-click on the adapter > properties > change a setting > Press OK, then the internet comes back and I can browse as normal like before.
I've tried looking for a setting which could disable the adapter but I can't find anything which could cause it to behave like it is doing. I have recently moved, and I never had any issues like this (same computer and router) at my old house.
Thanks if anyone can help.
