System locked up during game play and now 'no signal'

So I put a new build together in December. No issues, until today. I was playing a game and the computer locked up. When I start back up, bios shows but then I get no signal before I can get windows to pop up. Any ideas???

Thanks.

I can get it to load windows, but only for a few seconds before I get a black screen and then no signal. I also can't tell from the hard resets, if it is possibly a problem with my 960 evo and windows 10. Seems like a gpu issue.

Now it seems to be telling me that windows might need to be repaired? I tried putting the windows 10 usb back in and going through the options, but that doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere. I then get that the boot manager is missing???

Tried a startup repair. That didn't work. Just went to a restore point from a week ago when there was an automatic update from windows and it was unable to restore that successfully either.

WTF is going on???

I was just able to get on again and it's been okay for a minute or two now and I'm playing music videos on youtube again. Couldn't restore to either of the restore points. Both came up with 'an unexpected error'.

Been running solid for a few minutes. I have CPUID up and running again. I have temps up for everything. Nothing seems out of the ordinary. Game was Hand of Fate. Just started playing it today. It doesn't seem to graphically demanding.

Now one of the fans on the front of my case has stopped all together. It's not really related to temps, but I saw there was one with 0 rpm in CPUID and sure enough, one of them a the front of the case is out. I can't see the blades on my water loop fans to see if they are doing, but the three fans in PWM (which should be the fans on my rad are all running at 40% it says. My other two case fans are running as it says they are in CPUID. I'm at a loss here.

Just played for a while this morning. Periodically got dumped from Hand of Fate with system lock up like I have been getting since starting it. Played Fallout 4 for quite a while until it started to get real low FPS and then I got booted. No error, no lockup, just dropped. I went back in game and it locked up while loading.

Now I turn on the pc and it boots through bios fine, but upon trying to load windows, I simply get five little green dots and a large white box across the screen and nothing else.

Can anyone tell me if this sounds like a windows issue, or an overheating issue (I'm not seeing any heat issues in CPUID yet that I can notice), or a dying GPU, or something wrong with my loop that is causing my cpu to overheat, or anything? I don't have a running PC at all now.

Thanks.

Wish it had fixed it. Kept hoping for some help on here.

I eventually pulled the gpu with the intention of trying a different one. When I pulled the gpu out, i found coolant from my loop on the pci express connection. It was in the pci express slot as well. Found a dried spot on my 960 evo (hoping that's okay) and on a psu cable (hoping that's okay) and hoping the motherboard is okay as I found it on a motherboard heatsink too. Not sure what to do now. I can't find a leak. Leak tested it for 24 hours before I installed anything four months ago. All I can figure is that it's such a slow leak that I can't even find it on the paper towels when I leak test it, but it appears to be leaking from more than one place judging by the dried marks...

I had the same issue recently, with corsairs newer closed loop system.. Needless to say it took my brand new MSI b150A mobo out, i was not as lucky as you, i could not find any dried spots, not untill the whole PC was apart with the motherboard on my lap. Bought a cheap air cooler and am getting 25c idle temps (much better then the water cooled) and better load temps on my i7 6700k @ 4.7 / 4.4. Safe to say im not going back to liquid anytime soon, thankfully it only took out my shitty overpirced motherboard which i wanted to replace anyway.

I would be assuming your motherboard is fried, and hoping nothing else, replace that cooler and motherboard, clean everything with iso, and go at it !

Tell me more about iso? So far I have just cleaned off what I can with q-tips and my fan that's been blowing on it that I'll leave for 24 hours or so. How would I even go about testing the components? I suppose I'll leak test it with the parts out in case. Then drain it and try again if there isn't anything cracked in the block etc.

Its a custom loop? That sucks man, hopefully just something simple, it's pretty safe to say the motherboard will be the only thing affected, only thing you can do to test is to get another one and build the system, of course without leaks or with air.

Hoping maybe the motherboard might live as I was still posting bios just fine up until removing the gpu. That's probably wishful thinking however. And maybe it wasn't loading past that because it fried my 960 evo with windows on it too...
