Alright, so I'm working on a new build. I currently have the NZXT S340 Elite case. Since I don't have a optical drive nor does the case support a optical drive, where will I purchase Windows 7 from, preferably Windows 7 Professional? I also need a little support with installing Windows 7 from a USB. Thank you, and I apologize if I posted this thread in the wrong section.

Solution
1. MS is pulling another ram down ya throat tactic ... when Windows Update detects windows 7 , it will not install updates... even though there's no hardware or driver issue involved ... just to force you to use Win 10 cause the data collection provides them with an income stream

A user created patch thwarts this tactic and you can install without issue ... however, expect MS to follow the same tactics they did before and continue to frustrate user preferences. Been on all the tech sites of late ... even the trade rags have picked it up...

There's no possible way I can get Windows 7 Professional?

Well, not if you like having security updates and don't want to keep up with gray-area third-party Windows 10 modifications.

As to a USB install of Windows 7, you would have to make it yourself:

Alright, thank you. So, I can install Windows 7 Professional on my computer safely, I just won't be getting any updates right?

I would hardly characterize "no security updates" as "safely."

I went to Microsoft's website to download the ISO for Windows 7 but it's asking me to insert a Windows 7 product key first before I can download. I don't have a Windows 7 product key, where can I get one? Thanks.

You have to buy the software and then use the product key.

If you don't actually *have* a legit Windows 7 Professional right now, the thought of buying one to install on a Kaby Lake is an even wackier idea.

2. You can still buy Windows 7 / 8

https://www.newegg.com/Operating-Systems/SubCategory/ID-368

3. You can install using the method here:

1. Prepare for Windows installation with USB tool
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool

4. You can disable hardware updates using the method here:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/82137-drivers-turn-off-automatic-driver-installation.html

5, And contrary to many web articles, security updates are still being provided. Just not on new CPUs ... unless you apply the patch.

In short, it's kinda like the forced updates to Win 10 ... MS slips in some funky stuff, users create GWX Control Panel and other tools like the referenced patch and the cat and mouse game continues.
