Samsung Magician software needed?

I just picked up an 850 EVO SSD and went to their website to grab any firmware update, yet all I could find for this particular drive was the Magician software. This may be a stupid question but this is my first SSD and so I shall ask all the same: is this something worth getting, or is it useless bloat like the majority of the stuff that came with my mobo?

The Magician software will proved you with any firmware updates that become available. It also has some reasonably useful tools. However, they just came out with version 5.0, which is actually less useful than earlier versions. If you happen to get an older version, you might want to try it first.

Thanks! I'll see what I can dig up so far as older versions go, now that I know this isn't going to be some awful software I'll spend the next month trying to uninstall by bits and pieces as I hunt them all down.
