hey guys, i have had this problem ever since i've built this pc. Every time I shut my pc down, plug in 3 fans, and turn it on, the fans kind of "die". They won't start spinning and the LEDs in them are dimmer than they're supposed to be. But as soon as i remove one fan from the motherboard, they other two fans start working normally, and if i plug the third fan back in again it too starts working correctly. I don't know if it's the motherboard causing the problem or the fans. Any help would be very appreciated.

hello thanks for helping out. I've used both my preinstalled fan that came with the tower and my fans that I bought separately. The same problem still happens.

I'm hooking them up to their separate slots in the motherboard. I'll provide a video soon.

how do I check if they're 3-2 or 4 wire fans?

Are you using any "low-noise adapters" in the wiring to those fans? Those devices will interfere with normal automatic speed control by a mobo header and should NOT be used. They are for use when yoou plug your fan into a PSU output directly, and need a way to reduce their speed.

Not that I know of, I'm just using the 3 pin headers that are connected to the fan.

Hello... Nice video B ) ...1) Can you post the website for that corsair fan model? for me...

2) also explain or show me what you are using to turn the fan speed up/down with? there is a point where ~<25% of speed/power to them that will cause theses types/designs of Fans to not have the ability to run... they need a sudden/larger voltage rise to respond...
They are a brushless DC motor... and use Magnetics to turn... and also having the LED's in them will cause different Voltage characteristics in their operation and use... in other words B D you can't run theses types of Fans below a certain speed or Voltage.

That is why you always see your GPU and CPU fan startup at Full speed at boot and THEN slow down... it takes a larger voltage to get them started and they have a minimum Voltage range to keep them operating. B / ...you can not get O% to 100% speed range/control like "Brush" DC motor will give you.

I feel everything is normal and you might be dropping the Voltage to low and explains why when you un-plug one the other Fans start to increase in speed B )

Here is the two of the three fan models: http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-3402077/fans-boot-correctly-start-asus-m5a97-atx-am3-motherboard.html#xtor=EPR-8809
The third fan is just 12V DC 0.38A.
I'm using speed fan to lower and raise the fan speeds. The fans "die" when the speed goes to 85% or less. Also sorry it's taking so long for me to reply, I haven't been getting notified when someone answers.
