GTX 750 1GB vs GTX 460 1GB, which is best for gaming?

I know it sounds like a stupid question, but I've been looking at the FPS from the games I used to play with the 460 and now with the 750 and they're practically the same. Google comparisons show a slight advantage to the 460 in gaming even.

Is the 750 a bad replacement for the 460?

when you drop to the low teens like that, it could very well be the cpu or the game itself having an issue

make sure to monitor cpu temps while you play to rule that out, amd cpu's start...

You just did a sidegrade.

the one good advantage is better power consumption/newer DX version.

Other than that, the performance gain will be minimal at best especially if the rest of your system is older and presenting any bottlenecks.

If you simply dont have the budget, then game on! Use your rig to its fullest potential, and accept its limitations/enjoy it capabilities!

Enjoy your new upgrade!

Any future upgrades/questions about what to buy or upgrade paths feel free to ask!

I'm getting about 50-60 fps in Crysis 3. I'll exchange my GTX 750 for a GTX 1050 this next tuesday, what sort of fps gain will I have?

depends on your complete specs

the 1050 is stronger, though the TI version is what you want ideally

My specs:

FX 6300
8GB DDR3 ram
1TB 7200rpm Seagate

Will the 1050 4GB at be at least 50% quicker?

what resolution do you play at to be getting 50 - 60 fps with a 750?

I play at my monitor's native resolution: 1600x900

The thing is that in certain games, like Eurotruck Simulator 2 I have fps drops which go as low as 16 fps depending on the part of the map I am. That nose drop in fps is the kind that I want to cut out, I'd like to go past those parts of the map with at least 30 fps or so. And I am almost certain that the problem is to be found in my GTX 750 rather than the cpu. Or could it be only the cpu?

It could be both .
Regarding euro truck try the shadows fix (editing cknfig file) on the site below

I would argue the fx 6300 is capable of powering a much better gpu than a 750 seeing as I'm running a 970 with mine
The 1050 is better than the 750 by a fair stretch , a 1050ti absolutely would be the best purchase for you though if you can afford one .
At 1440x900 you'll completely remove any chance of being GPU bound.

I really recommend the 1050 ti as it's just a bit more but a good amount better.
