Thinking of replacing my old 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM with a 1TB Crucial MX300 M.2 drive so I'll want to pretty much clone the drive, luckily I already have windows installed on a separate drive so I don't have to worry about that but I still have a lot of things on my drive such as Steam and tv shows and all that.

Just need to know what software I should use and if it'll work correctly I mean I imagine I'd have to change the drive letter to the same as the old one so shortcuts and recognized and all that, I also need to know if anything will mess up aside from that.

Thanks.

Solution
If this is merely a secondary drive, no cloning needed.

Just copy everything over to the new drive, in the folder structure as it is now.
Then swap drive letters around so the new drive is the same letter as the old one was.
Done.

A cloning operation would work, but that is completely not needed for this instance.
Macrium Reflect would do this easily.
