So I was in a middle of a game and the computer just went black on me. Couldn't get it back on. I tested the psu with the paperclip and the fan spins. I took the gpu out as to test which component is at fault and it booted and I can get into the windows login screen, albeit very laggy. However, with the gpu plugged in, nothing happens, not even leds.

Specs: antec hcg 520w
xfx-r9 280x
i5-4460
msi h97 gaming 3

I have seen the other threads and it seems like a psu problem.

What worries me is that, did it damage my other components while it got busted

Update: so i tested the psu and it worked, now how do i go about testing each part

Update: So after I removed my graphics card, everything turned on and I was able to boot with the on board graphics, although it was very slow and the log in screened lagged alot. Would this indicate a problem with the graphics card or the psu not having enough power?

How do i go about checking them one by one

If there are no leds on your Mb, it can be either the Psu, the Mb or the connections from the Psu to Mb. If there are leds but the Pc doesnt start, can be multiple things.
First of test the Rams one by one on different slots to see if you computer starts. Then try starting it without your Gpu. You can also reset your Cmos by removing the battery in your Mb for 30secs and reinserting it. As a last resort you can try resettling your Cpu, but I doubt it is the culprit.
I am also assuming you didnt mess with the front panel connectors to the Mb and reinserted them wrong..

The mb lights up with the fans running when I pulled the gpu out so is it a gpu problem?
