My computer beeps when I try to boot it and it won't give me video signal or start up. What's the problem?

I have an intel dh77kc motherboard and 16GB of hyper x ddr3 RAM. My RAM is new, I bought around December last year. The beeping pattern is two beeps with one second between them. A
About a month ago I accidentally restarted my computer when I meant to shut it down and when it tried to reboot I wouldn't get any video signal and I would get two beeps. It fixed itself so I thought nothing of it. It happened again yesterday so I opened my computer, unplugged my gpu from the psu and removed the RAM. When I put them back in and turned my pc it worked. Later on when I came back home I wanted to use my computer again and had the same issue and fixed it the same way. Today in the morning I had the same issue but removing the RAM didn't work the computer didn't get any video signal and it kept beeping. I decided to get my old RAM and the issue was solved.

Also I was just checking the Motherboard's manual and according to the beeping, which was two beeps with 1 second in between it's a video issue when no VGA option ROM is found. Does this mean the problem would also be with my GPU? According to intel to fix this I should plug my monitor to the correct inputs which I am doing.

Any help would be appreciated.

I can't check the BIOS version because I'm away from my computer. I have an i7 3770k, a gtx 970 and my psu is an evga supernova 750w.

Which VGA option ROM is missing? The one for the Intel HD Graphics 4000 IGP (Integrated Graphics Processor) on the CPU or the one for the GeForce GTX 970 discrete graphics card? If it's happening for the IGP then there is a problem with the CPU. If its happening for the GeForce GTX 970 then there is a problem with the discrete graphics card.

I assume it's the dedicated gpu vga rom since it's the only gpu connected to a monitor. Also is there a chance the problem could be related to the pci slot on my motherboard?

It could be the PCI Express x16 add-in card connector on the motherboard. If you can borrow a known working discrete graphics card from someone then you can test it. Alternatively you can also test your GeForce GTX 970 discrete graphics card in another known working system to determine if the graphics card may have a problem.

I have a gtx 560 I could try. Not the first time it happened. When I upgraded from the 560 to the 970 I had the same problem and a BIOS update solved it.
