Hello everyone,

I have just finished my first PC build but I ran into some issues.
First, the motherboard would display a 55 error code and the DRAM LED was stuck on a solid orange.
I have 4 8GB DDR4 3400 MHz sticks. I tried different things and now I am able to say that I get stuck if there anything in the A2 port. Whatever I have in the other ports doesn't matter.

So, I removed this stick temporarily and now I have the VGA LED lit with a solid white and the code 62 is displayed (last steps are 62 - 63 - 72 - 62).

I have a monitor connected with a HDMI cable but it doesn't display anything. Not even a ASUS logo. It doesn't detect anything.

Do you guys have any idea what's wrong with the RAM and the 62 code?

Here is my build:
Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme
Processor: 7700k
Cooler: Corsair H115i
RAM: 4x8GB G.SKILL TridentZ 3400 MHz
GPU: ASUS GTX 1080 Tii FE
SSD: 250GB + 1TB Samsung 850 EVO
Case: Corsair 900D

Thanks a lot for your help!

Intel Z170 chipset motherboard requires BIOS version 3007 or higher to use 7th Generation 7700k.

The motherboard features USB BIOS Flashback which allows you to flash BIOS without a CPU.

I suggest you read the manual to see how it works on your model.

Hello Calvin7,

Thanks for your answer.
Sadly, this isn't the issue. I already had updated the BIOS to the latest version (3401).

Any other idea?

Hi. Yes actually the issue was that a pin from the processor was bent. Everything works great now
