I have a fx 8320 currently overclocked to 4.4ghz although when my cpu is under load especially in bf4 the voltage drops and my fps plummets then it goes back up and its a cycle, i've read up and know its to do with the cpu voltage multiplier and llc and i have played around with these and turned them up and down and added more voltage etc but even when i was at 4.2ghz with a vcore voltage of +0.1 and a llc of ultra high (dont know what it relates to in terms of numbers but i know it is high) i was still experiencing voltage drops from around 1.47 to 0.98 and i know that 1.47 is a high voltage for this cpu but i tried to eliminate that the cpu wasn't getting enough volts. i have also turned of cpu unlock, c6, cool n quiet, and any power saving setting to make sure most the power was going to the cpu. now i'm stuck and don't know what to do, if anyone has any idea's please tell me! i've also tried putting the bus at 204 and the clock at 21 (4.2ghz) and llc on ultra high and voltage at +0.750 but i still have the same problem. also the specs of my pc are 16gbs ddr3 1600mhz ram, fx 8320 cpu, 2x toshiba hdd 7200rpm, r9 380 nitro 4gb, gigabyte 990x gaming sli mobo and a 600w EVGA 80 plus psu

What are the thermal margins according to AMD Overdrive before and when the issue occurs? I presume the voltage drops because the CPU gets throttled to 1.4 GHz, but you haven't indicated how you are cooling it. The higher the voltage, the more likely the throttling issue will occur. Have you tried lowering the CPU voltage instead of increasing it? Find the lowest stable voltage and then increase it a bit for stability.

yes it was throttling its self down to 1.4ghz, i have a hyper evo 212 and i didn't have overdrive open to see the margins although the temps were around 52-54 but i have since set the voltage to +0.25 and turned the multiplier down to 4.0ghz and it seems to be running fine with bf4 and arma 3 etc. i just don't get it because i had it clocked at 4.4ghz for nearly a week and it was fine with arma and bf4 running for hours and a cpu-z stress test then yesterday it just kept on throttling itself without warning and at temps that it was fine before.
