I currently have a 850 Pro 256GB 2.5 SATA SSD on my home pc and would like to add storage to house all my documents, pics, music and files off the main os drive. My motherboard, Asus Z97-K, has M.2 2280 capacity. This is a home/work computer and not a gaming computer.

In your opinion would it be better to purchase a 960 M.2 for the main hd and use the 850 Pro 2.5 for storage or buy a 850 Evo 2.5 for additional storage?

Based on price, the 960 Evo is only $30 more than the 850 Evo (250GB).

I don't know much about the M.2 drives and have been happy with the speed and reliability of the 850 Pro. I appreciate your help with my limited knowledge and understanding on these drives and this choice.

Thanks

^^^^^^^^ THAT ^^^^^^^^^^^

For my money I'd grab the largest SATA SSD I could afford for that use case. The 850 pro is actually overkill for the majority of consumer desktop PCs. The EVO is a great bang for the buck. There are a LOT of other good options out there though. Check out the Crucial MX300.
