I just a got a new mouse which is the Logitech g502 Proteus spectrun and am having trouble with the programmable buttons In games. The buttons I can get to work in games are the forward button, the back button, and the button in front of the thumb. I can't get either of the top buttons to work (excluding the DPI change button, I don't want to use that). Also the way i got the button in front of the thumb to work was by making it be and r-key alternative, which I don' want.
Is there some way to get all the buttons to work in game without making them a key?

I have the Logitech software. I just wanted to have the same setting on for the desktop and bind the function to the in game function. for example ,I have the forward button (which works as forward on the desktop) to knife in game. I am trying to get all buttons to work like this but I can't.

Sorry but I'm having difficulty understanding what your trying to do exactly. Why not just adjust your key bindings in each game to your preference?

THB besides the game profiles I'm not too sure how to universally bind your desktop keys to your game keys (if this is what your trying to do).

I don't want to have to change settings on my mouse all the time. I want to universally bind my desktop keys to my game keys like you said and just change controls in the game. usually in the game it will say something like mouse button 5, 6 etc. for each button. For some of them it will either not detect a key or say invalid key.
Also do you know what the ventrilo commands are? Like command 1, command 2, and command 3.

You should only have to change those game settings *once*, even after updates they shouldn't change and should stay at where you mapped them. You could try this program (old article though, not sure about Win10) but this may help.

Does Logitech Software recognize the games your playing? You should be able to create custom keybinds with at least the mouse for game profiles (keyboard also if it's Logitech).

The software recognized most of the games except rainbow six siege, which I play a lot, along with a few others. I see all the profiles. The problem is in games, especially Rainbow Six Siege I go to customize a keybind and it won't detect i'm pressing anything or will say invalid key.

Change the key bind in the mouse software to something the game will see. Like map the right mouse click to J for JUMP and the game will register it as you hitting the J key on the keyboard.

I have the same mouse. The only issue I have is weapon switch on the scroll button. Moving the mouse in a fight can switch my weapon.

about the only thing that is standard in FPS games is that fire is the left click the movement is WASD buttons. You have to config the mouse and the game to what is comfortable to you.

And if you do any sniping do yourself a favor and check out and use the DIP buttons. When you are zoomed in you can slow the mouse down to help with control while zoomed.

I know but I wanted to bind them to things that will also be useful on the desktop. I don't really snipe that much so the dpi change isn't really useful for me but i will check it out!
